Five and a half years ago, Marieke Van De Putte made a daring move from EY to Capgemini, driven by the conviction that GRC needed automation. Today, together with Konfer.ai, they've brought that vision to life—with tangible results:
Developed 11 meta use cases—including 7 focused on AI guardrails.
Deployed 3 of those use cases successfully with clients, powered by Konfer.ai.
Reimagined Capgemini's existing AI solutions under a GRC lens.
Translated 800+ business and IT controls into 4,500 LEGO-style AI "blocks" across AWS, Google, Microsoft—modernizing SOX and ISO27001 compliance.
Built seamless data connectors for "lego block" orchestration, including SAP-specific solutions.
Instituted guardrails to ensure auditable, trustworthy AI agent outputs.
This transformation isn't just inspiring—it's redefining GRC automation, and Konfer.ai is at the core of it. Kudos to Capgemini, Marieke, and all collaboration partners!

Auditboard Study survey of over 400 governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and audit professionals across the US, Canada, Germany, and the UK
|
|
|
Respondents identified the leading obstacles to governance as a lack of clear ownership (44 percent), insufficient internal expertise (39 percent), and resource constraints (34 percent). Konfer is addressing these pain points by enabling these businesses with Agentic AI for governance that offers 10X productivity in management.
The survey revealed that Organizations across industry sectors are racing to integrate AI tools into their core business processes, seeking productivity gains and competitive advantages. However, this momentum has triggered a parallel challenge: managing the associated risks. The resulting AI policy-practice gap is emerging as a new risk frontier, rooted in executional uncertainty, cultural fragmentation and misaligned ownership. Only a quarter (25 percent) of businesses have a fully implemented artificial intelligence (AI) governance program.

U.S. Freezes State-Level AI Regulation; Companies Must Self-Govern
|
|
|
A new federal bill imposes a 10-year freeze on state AI regulation, pushing firms to strengthen internal AI governance and integrate oversight within GRC frameworks.
With a federal freeze on state-level AI regulation, companies can no longer rely on a patchwork of state-specific rules. The focus shifts to robust, centralized internal governance. Konfer.ai's platform directly addresses this need by:
- Automated Policy Generation: Konfer.ai uses generative AI to analyze and interpret complex regulations and policies. It then translates these into an actionable governance playbook with clear, measurable control questions. This significantly reduces the time and effort required to create a GRC framework from scratch.
- AI Asset Management: Konfer.ai automatically discovers, inventories, and maps an organization's AI assets. This creates a centralized repository, providing a global view of the AI ecosystem and its inter-relationships, which is essential for effective risk management.
- Standardizing Governance: Konfer helps companies move away from a reactive, manual GRC approach to a proactive, automated one. This ensures that their internal policies are not only robust but also consistently applied across all AI initiatives.
- Adapting to Future Regulations: While the federal bill imposes a temporary freeze, the regulatory landscape is constantly evolving. Konfer.ai's ability to ingest new and changing laws and abstract them into actionable controls ensures that companies are prepared for future regulations without having to overhaul their entire GRC framework.
- Building a Foundation for Trust: By embedding governance at the design stage of AI projects, Konfer.ai helps companies build trustworthy and transparent AI systems. This fosters confidence among stakeholders and positions the company for responsible innovation during the 10-year period and beyond.
